Do you want to know about CNA training in Utah? There are tremendous employment opportunities for CNAs willing to work in Utah. CNA training is required for any individual interested in becoming a certified nursing assistant (CNA). To become a CNA in Utah, you must get enrolled into a CNA training program offered by a Nursing Aide training school approved by the Utah Nursing Assistant Registry. After graduating from the CNA training, you are eligible to challenge the Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) which is held at D&S headquarters or approved sites. Once you have successfully passed NATCEP, your name gets placed on the Utah Registry for Nursing Assistants. It is to be noted that you must undergo a personal background as well as physical condition check to be eligible to attend the CNA training.

CNA training classes in Utah must possess at least eighty (80) hours of instruction time. These training classes must have a clinical component dedicated to the training at a licensed facility that is designated for long term patient care. The CNA training program provides all the necessary skills and knowledge to challenge the NATCEP and perform well in your nursing career.  These skills include providing daily needs to the residents, monitoring patient vital and health reports, and basic nursing skills.

Regarding the NATCEP exam, you must challenge this exam within a year of completion of the CNA training program. The exam cost is $70 and it consists of 100 questions in the written part and you are required to perform five tasks correctly on a volunteer. You are allowed 25% tolerance in the written part while no tolerance is given in the performance part. On successfully passing the NATCEP, you get listed on the Utah State Nurse Aide Registry and are allowed to work in any healthcare facility throughout in Utah.

It is encouraging to know that the CNA job growth in Utah is 37%, as predicted by the Department of Workforce. A fulltime CNA working in Utah earns a median salary of $22,260.
